How to Reduce Processing Errors in Double-headed lathe special machine tool: Several Methods
2025-12-12 16:17:56

How to reduce the machining error of machine tools has become a hot and key research topic. In response to the problem of low product processing accuracy encountered in the actual production of Double-headed lathe special machine tool, methods and measures such as error compensation and error prevention can be adopted to improve the machining accuracy of machine tools.

Double-headed lathe special machine tool

1. Error compensation method

Error compensation method is a method of improving the accuracy of CNC double head lathe by utilizing the compensation function of CNC machine tool systems to compensate for existing errors on the coordinate axes of the machine tool. It is an effective and economical means to improve the accuracy of Cnc machine tools. Through error compensation technology, high-precision parts can be machined on CNC machine tools with low accuracy. The implementation of error compensation can be accomplished by hardware or software.

2. Error prevention method

Error prevention method belongs to pre prevention, which attempts to eliminate possible sources of error through manufacturing and design. For example, by improving the machining and assembly accuracy of machine tool components, increasing the stiffness of the machine tool system, that is, improving the structure and materials of the lathe, and by strictly controlling the machining environment, such as the machining environment and temperature rise in the workshop, especially the traditional methods of improving machining accuracy.

The error prevention method adopts "hard technology", but it has a disadvantage that the performance and cost of Double-headed lathe special machine tool increase exponentially. At the same time, simply using error prevention methods to improve the machining accuracy of CNC machine tools will be very difficult to further improve once the accuracy meets certain requirements.

3. Other methods

For the machining accuracy error caused by the geometric parameters of the turning tool, the following method can be used to solve it: during the programming process, the trajectory of the tool tip is made to match the machining contour of the part with the ideal contour, that is, before programming, the actual required circular arc tool tip trajectory is converted into an imaginary tool tip trajectory through manual calculation, and zero error is theoretically achieved as much as possible.

At the same time, it is also extremely important to use the center of the tool tip arc as the cutting point during the programming process, because the drawing of the trajectory of the tool tip arc center and the calculation of its feature points are relatively cumbersome, and even a slight mistake can cause significant errors. To avoid and reduce the occurrence of errors in Double head CNC lathe, this operation can be completed by using the drawing function of equidistant lines and the coordinate query function of points in CAD software.
